Radio6ense has received funding under the Brevetti+ program to enhance the value of its patent “Sensore wireless epidermico, in particolare per la misura della temperatura corporea” (Patent No. 102020000001492). This innovative, thin, and flexible sensor enables wireless skin temperature monitoring using RFID technology, providing precise and real-time measurements without the need for an internal power source. It is particularly suited for medical applications and the digital health sector.

- Experimental characterization: The sensor was tested for communication performance, temperature measurement accuracy, and mechanical robustness in real-world conditions. The results demonstrated reliable data transmission at distances over 0.7 meters and high durability of the flexible conductive materials.
- Industrialization and production optimization: Collaborating with Mecstar Srl, the sensor’s production process was refined, enabling scalable manufacturing using medical-grade adhesive materials.
- Software platform development: With the support of Leaf Srl, a dedicated software architecture was designed to securely collect, process, and display sensor data, ensuring interoperability with both fixed and mobile RFID readers.
- Market analysis and strategic partnerships: In collaboration with OGP Srl, market studies were conducted to identify key application areas, leading to ongoing partnerships with major biomedical companies for clinical validation and commercialization.
These advancements position the epidermal sensor as a cutting-edge solution for applications such as remote patient monitoring, wound healing assessment, and intravenous catheter therapy management, driving innovation in digital health and medical technology.
